Summer Evenings at Fellows Riverside Gardens
The D.D. and Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center will be open to visitors on Wednesday evenings until 8 p.m. The Antonucci Library and Shop in the Gardens will have extended hours. The Cafe will be open until 7 p.m. for your enjoyment of summer evenings at the Gardens.

Yoga in the Gardens
July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
Tuesdays, 8:30 - 10 a.m. (beginner level) & 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Thursdays, 8:30 - 10 a.m. (intermediate level) and 5:30 - 7 p.m. (beginner level)

The class offers a blend of yoga styles amidst the restorative power of nature. At the beginning of class, students will take an energizing walk in the Gardens with instructor Heidi Suraci. Students at all levels are welcome. Bring a mat, small blanket and bottled water. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.
Fee: $10 per class

T'ai Chi in the White Garden
July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Wednesday, Noon - 1 p.m.

Ease stress, improve health, and increase vitality in the serene White Garden at Fellows Riverside Gardens. Join Marie Lew in warm-ups, breathing exercises, and selected movements from a classic Chen T'ai Chi form. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.
Fee: $10 per class

Children's Yoga at Fellows Riverside Gardens
July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Wednesdays, 11 a.m. - Noon

Heidi Suraci will teach children ages 6 and up yoga postures to improve balance and coordination. This playful class will end with a relaxation session and a story to encourage creativity. Bring a mat, small blanket and bottled water. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.
Fee: $48 for 5 classes

Teen Yoga at Fellows Riverside Gardens
July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Wednesdays, 5 - 6 p.m.

Teens will develop positive self-esteem while building strength and flexibility with instructor Heidi Suraci. Bring a mat, small blanket, and bottled water. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.
Fee: $48 for 5 classes

Hot Yoga for Advanced Students
July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
Thursdays, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Vinyasa-style yoga uniquely blends postures and breath work to release deep areas of resistance and open new areas of awareness. Previous yoga experience required. Bring mat, towel, and bottled water. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.
Fee: $10 per class

Botanical Pottery: Cactus Planter
July 9, Wednesday, 5:30 - 8 p.m.
Lynn Cardwell will help students construct a shallow terracotta planter suitable for cactus and succulents. The pottery will be glazed, fired, and ready for pickup approximately three weeks after the class. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.
Fee: $32 ($25 FFRG members)

Ticklish Garden
July 11 or 12
Friday, 11 a.m. - Noon or 1 - 2 p.m. or Saturday, 11 a.m. - Noon

Some plants are ticklish just like children. Preschoolers ages 3 - 5 with their adult companions will look for plants in the Family Garden that protect themselves in unusual ways. Each child will receive a mimosa plant to take home. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.
Fee: $5 R, $7 NR

Quirky or Clever Plants
July 12, Saturday, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Children ages 6 and up with their adult companions will discover plants in the Family Garden that have quirky or clever ways of surviving. Each child will receive a mimosa plant to take home. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.
Fee: $5 R, $7 NR

Bridal Fair--A Garden Wedding
July 13, Sunday, Noon - 4 p.m.
Experience the Gardens and the Davis Center decorated for a most important day--your wedding! Meet area bridal vendors and discover ideas for your ceremony and reception. Register for door prizes and be a guest at the 3 p.m. Wedding Fashion Show at Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Breakfast Botany: Beech
July 18, Friday, 8:30 - 10 a.m.
Start your morning with a brisk walk through the Gardens. Return to the Garden Cafe to enjoy a light breakfast and learn about the importance of beeches in the 50-year history of Fellows Riverside Gardens. Call FRG to register.
Fee: $6 R, $8 NR

Restoration Yoga
July 20, Sunday, 9 - 11 a.m.
Experience heightened awareness and self-healing through specialized breathing techniques and postures. This state of deep relaxation will create an atmosphere perfect for meditation. Bring a mat. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register by July 18.

Garden Party--Fabulous at 50!
July 25, Friday, 6 p.m.
Elizabeth Fellows shared her dream, "the beauty spot for all to enjoy" by leaving a gift 50 years ago that has grown into a beloved garden. Celebrate the Golden Anniversary with the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens at this annual fundraiser. Enjoy delicious food, delectable wines, and music in the surroundings of the Gardens. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for reservations.

Meditation in Movement
July 27, Sunday, Noon - 2 p.m.
Join Julie Thomas in the Tara Dance. Through simple, graceful movements learn to focus on inner strengths while appreciating the beauty of the surrounding gardens. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

Guided Tour of Fellows Riverside Gardens
July 27, Sunday, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy a leisurely walk in Fellows Riverside Gardens to admire the vibrant hues of bedding plants displaying their summer colors. A guide will point out highlights while sharing anecdotes and history. Sign in at the information desk on the afternoon of the tour.

The public is encouraged to enter all flower shows. Show schedules are available one month prior to the show. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for details.

Nature Lover's Garden Club Flower Show
July 19 & 20
Saturday, Noon - 5 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Enjoy the beauty of individual blooms and floral designs at this mid-season show presented by Nature Lover's Garden Club.

International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration
Through July 20, Weller Gallery
The stunning drawings and paintings of 51 talented botanical artists from around the world are included in this traveling exhibit from the Hunt Institute in Pittsburgh.

Blooms of Summer
July 25 - September 14, Weller Gallery
The large floral watercolor paintings by Gary Bukovnik, San Francisco artist, fill the gallery walls with an explosion of joyful, colorful blooms.

John Paolano--Landscape Architect
Through December 2008, Melnick Museum
The design influences of John Paolano, landscape architect of Fellows Riverside Gardens, have been appreciated and admired for 50 years. This exhibit honors his remarkable talents.

Family Garden Day
August 10, Sunday, 1 - 4 p.m.
Fellows Riverside Gardens invites children with their families to an afternoon of fun and activities in the Family Garden. Pot a plant to take home, design in the digging garden, weave plants, listen to a story with puppets, snack on butterfly cookies and nectar, and leave your handprints on the garden fence.
